2x History is a daily history game. It is designed to work without creating an account. Puzzle content is bundled on your device. Most game data stays on your device. We collect limited information to operate the App, process purchases, and understand how the App is used.

The App stores game-related data locally on your device (in an on-device database), including:
This data is not uploaded to our servers unless you choose to share it (for example, by using the share feature). Historical articles and quotes used in the game are shipped with the App and are not fetched from a first-party backend.
When you first open the App, we generate a random anonymous identifier (UUID) and store it on your device. We use this identifier to:

We use Amplitude to collect analytics about how the App is used. This may include:
Analytics are tied to your anonymous identifier. Gameplay events may include puzzle identifiers, your choices, guessed years, and scores. We do not intentionally collect your name, email address, or precise location through analytics.
In development/debug builds, analytics may be disabled or logged locally only.
Purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play, not directly by us. We use RevenueCat to manage entitlements and purchase status.
RevenueCat and the app stores may receive:
Payment card and billing details are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies. We do not receive your full payment card number.

Actual prices and whether Pro is a one-time purchase or a subscription are shown in the App and may vary by region, currency, and store.
If you use the share feature, you choose what to send through your device’s share sheet (for example, Messages, email, or social apps). We do not receive the contents of those shares unless you contact us directly.
If you contact support by email, we receive whatever information you include in your message.
The App may open third-party websites from links in “Read more” articles and related content, using an in-app browser. Those sites have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.
2x History does not:
Some device permissions may appear because of platform or third-party libraries (for example, internet access for purchases, analytics, fonts, and opening links). The App’s core gameplay does not require access to your contacts.

You may object to processing based on legitimate interests where applicable under local law.
You can delete your on-device game data from Settings → Delete local data in the App. This removes puzzle progress, collected facts and quotes, streaks, settings (including your sensitive-content preference), and the locally stored anonymous identifier. This action cannot be undone.
Deleting local data does not automatically cancel an active subscription or revoke a store purchase. Manage subscriptions through the App Store or Google Play.
You can restore previous purchases from the paywall or your device’s App Store / Google Play account settings.
Some historical articles and quotes may include mature or upsetting material. You can choose whether to show this content in Settings, or confirm access when it appears. This preference is stored on your device.
Depending on your platform and region, you may limit ad/analytics tracking through your device settings (for example, Limit Ad Tracking on iOS or Opt out of Ads Personalization on Android). Amplitude analytics in 2x History are used for product analytics, not advertising profiles, but platform controls may still affect some data collection by SDKs.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data, or to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@marioiannotta.com.
We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
2x History is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). Some in-App historical content is intended for ages 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Our service providers (including Amplitude, RevenueCat, and Google Fonts) may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed through the App and our providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Because most gameplay data stays on your device, you are responsible for securing your device.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated in the App or on our website where required by law.
